Celebrating International Women’s Day

At South Eastern Private Hospital, we are proud to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women across our hospital community. This year’s International Women’s Day brought together staff, clinicians, and leaders for a meaningful afternoon recognising the vital role women play in healthcare, leadership, and patient support.

A Special Celebration of Women in Healthcare

Held on Friday 6 March, our event invited team members to gather in the downstairs training room for a light lunch, community connection, and a moment to celebrate the women who make an extraordinary impact across our hospital every day. With everyone encouraged to wear purple — the colour of dignity and justice — the event reflected unity, pride, and purpose.

We were delighted to welcome two special guests who joined us for the occasion:

  • Dr Sadaf Khattak, one of our dedicated Psychiatrists
  • Daria Simic, CEO of Aurora Healthcare

Daria shared her heartfelt appreciation for the team, saying:

“It was my pleasure to join the South Eastern Private Hospital staff and doctors in celebrating International Women’s Day. I was truly inspired by the passion, dedication, and leadership demonstrated across the organisation, and I am proud to stand alongside such an exceptional team committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and excellence in care.”

Her words reflect the pride and respect we hold for the women who shape our organisation and deliver exceptional care every day.

Highlighting the WIMIN Health Program

A key focus of this year’s celebration was the ongoing work of our WIMIN Health Program, a specialised service delivered here at South Eastern Private Hospital (VIC). The program provides a dual mental health and rehabilitation pathway dedicated to improving the wellbeing of women across Victoria.

Designed to offer holistic, compassionate care, the WIMIN program supports women experiencing mental health challenges, physical deconditioning, or changes in their daily functioning. By integrating rehabilitation with psychological support, the program empowers women to rebuild confidence, restore independence, and enhance their quality of life.

Coming Together as a Community

International Women’s Day is more than a single event — it’s a reflection of our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where women feel supported, valued, and able to thrive. Our celebration offered a moment to pause, connect, and appreciate the women who contribute so much to the care of our patients and the success of our hospital.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, or supported the event.
