Professional background
Dr. Swati Mukherjee is a board-certified Cardiologist accredited by the Royal Australian College of Physicians. One of only 17 women in interventional Cardiology in ANZ, she completed her Cardiology training at at the Alfred Hospital. She has more than 10 years’ experience in general and interventional cardiology in adults.
Actively involved in research she has special interest in heart disease in women. Receiving a Postgraduate research scholarship from the CSANZ and NHMRC she completed her PhD (Monash). She received Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at The Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust, UK. Currently, a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (Monash) she leads research in transformation of women’s cardiovascular health.
Recently she was awarded FCSAI in recognition by international and national peers of mastery over her art and ethical practice. She serves the interests of patients above all else, continuously embracing the best contemporary science and evidence based best practice in both prevention and and treatment of heart disease.
