Professional background
Dr James Knox completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales and went on to complete his specialty training as both an Infectious Diseases Physician and Microbiologist. He has wide ranging clinical and laboratory experience, having worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Hospital and the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory during his training. His background also includes a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from Liverpool University, UK, and humanitarian relief work with Medecins Sans Frontieres. As a field doctor, he managed large medical teams in both Angola and the Darfur region of Sudan. He is a member of the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases and the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine. Dr Knox is Head of Microbiology at Dorevitch Pathology, Director of Glide Online Travel Clinic, and an Infectious Diseases Physician at Mulgrave and South-Eastern Private Hospitals.
