Dr Dushyanthi Tilakawardena

Dr Dushyanthi (Dushy) Tilakawardena is a consultant in Adult Psychiatry with over Twenty years’ experience in the public and private mental health services in Melbourne.

Her specialties include Adult ADHD, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment, Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Work cover funded Psychiatric Treatment, TAC funded Psychiatric Treatment, Mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder) and Anxiety Disorders.

Dr Tilakawardena obtained her fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) after completing basic and advanced training in General Adult Psychiatry at Monash Health. She has also completed a Masters in Psychological Medicine from Monash University. She has formal training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Dr Tilakawardena provides comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions affecting adults of all ages, and works primarily in an acute inpatient setting at South Eastern Private Hospital. Dr. Tilakawardena works closely with South Eastern Private Hospital Psychotherapy Department and provides day admissions to her patients to attend group therapy programmes. She also provides rTMS treatment at South Eastern Private Hospital.
