The booking for your overnight hospital stay at the Sleep Centre is arranged directly with you by our administration staff who will call you after they have received a referral from your doctor.

Sleep Centre admissions

The booking for your overnight hospital stay at the Sleep Centre is arranged by the Sleep Centre administration staff.  Your referring doctor will send your referral directly to our administration staff. 

A health fund check is arranged to verify your insurance and any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur from your hospital stay. Our staff are happy to answer any questions you may have about costs and insurance coverage. You may also wish to check with your health fund if you have any concerns.

Our administration staff will call you directly to organize a suitable time for your overnight stay.

Your appointment time for admission is 6:30pm.

Complete admission paperwork

Administration paperwork is completed with you when you arrive for your overnight stay. 

Please bring a list of all your current medications and medical history to complete your paperwork. 

If you are non-English speaking please have a family member with you.

About the Sleep Centre

The South Eastern Private Sleep Centre specializes in diagnostic and treatment services for patients with Sleep Disorders.

Our Sleep Centre team includes accredited Sleep Physicians and Sleep Scientists with internally recongised credentials in the field for health care professionals who clinically asses patients with sleep disorders (RPSGT).

About our facilities

The South Eastern Private Sleep Centre operates out of its own department.  It is a three bed facility operating six nights a week.

Your accommodation will be in a single room equipped with a double bed, television, and private shower and toilet facilities.

It also offers CPAP treatment trials proceeding the overnight stay at your convenience.  This service operates weekdays out of the Sleep Centre rooms by Sleep Services Australia.

What to bring to hospital

Please remember to bring the following to hospital (if relevant to you):

  • Medicare care
  • Health fund membership card
  • Veterans' Affairs card
  • All medication currently being taken, in original packaging
  • A list of all medications from your GP (preferably typed
  • Slippers (non-slip) or comfortable shoes
  • Toiletries
  • Reading material
  • Spectacles and case
  • Credit card (if required)
  • Mobility/walking aid (if used)
  • CPAP (if required)

Valuables

We strongly recommend that you do not bring the following items with you, as the hospital does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property:

  • Jewellery
  • Large sums of money
  • Other valuables

Sleep Centre requirements

A light supper will be provided once you have been admitted but you should have dinner prior to arrival at the Sleep Centre.  Please avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol prior to your admission and remove any nail polish from your fingernails.

If you are a diabetic or have a heart condition please advise our setup staff immediately. Please also notify staff if you have any allergies to tape.

Breakfast will be served in the morning around 6:00am.  If you are being collected please make sure they are here between 6:30am-7:00am.

On arrival

On the day of your admission, ensure you arrive to hospital at the time designated. 

Your appointment time for admission will be 6:30pm.

On arrival, please register at reception. You will then be shown to your room.
