For the past ten years, our Mental Health Services have supported individuals and families throughout Melbourne's south-east, providing a safe and therapeutic environment where recovery, wellbeing and hope are at the centre of everything we do.
Since welcoming our first patients, South Eastern Private Hospital has grown into a trusted provider of private mental health care. Through changing healthcare landscapes, increased community awareness and a growing need for mental health support, our commitment has remained the same: delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
Over the past decade, thousands of patients have walked through our doors seeking support during some of life's most challenging moments. Many have gone on to build healthier, more fulfilling lives, supported by the expertise and compassion of our multidisciplinary team.
This milestone belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey.
We would like to acknowledge the psychiatrists, nurses, allied health professionals, support staff, referrers, patients and families who have helped shape our Mental Health Services over the past ten years. Their dedication, trust and partnership have enabled us to build a service that continues to make a meaningful impact on people's lives.
While anniversaries are a chance to celebrate achievements, they are also an opportunity to look forward.
Mental health care continues to evolve, and South Eastern Private Hospital remains committed to providing contemporary, evidence-based treatment that meets the changing needs of our community. We look forward to continuing to support patients on their recovery journeys and expanding opportunities for care, connection and wellbeing in the years ahead.
On Monday 24 August 2026, patients, doctors and staff will come together to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Mental Health Services at South Eastern Private Hospital. The event will recognise a decade of commitment to mental health care and the extraordinary people who have contributed to its success.
The countdown is officially on. Here's to ten years of care, compassion and community, and to the many lives we will continue to support in the decade ahead.
I joined South Eastern Private Hospital’s Mental Health service only a few months after it opened, when the service consisted of just one ward, Olinda. It has been incredibly rewarding to be part of the journey from those early days and to see the service grow and develop over the years.
I initially worked as an ANUM in Olinda before having the opportunity to step into an Acting NUM role and then becoming the permanent Nurse Unit Manager. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working across both Olinda and Emerald wards, eventually making Emerald my home.
When I look back, what makes me most proud is not a single moment, but the people I have been able to support along the way. I have seen many staff members begin their mental health journey with us, grow in confidence and experience, and develop into wonderful mental health professionals. Most importantly, it has been a privilege to support so many patients and families during some of the most difficult and vulnerable times in their lives.
I am also very grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside many exceptional psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and colleagues. The ongoing support, understanding and trust of our Executive and senior management team have also been an important part of our service's growth.
Mental health care can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding. After almost 10 years, I remain proud to be part of a team that continues to provide compassion, hope and support to people when they need it most.
Watching our Mental Health service grow from one ward into what it is today has been a very special part of my professional journey, and I look forward to seeing where the next 10 years take us.
As a long-serving team member, I feel privileged to have been part of the growth and evolution of Mental Health Services at South Eastern Private Hospital over the past decade. My journey, from starting in the public health system to now serving as the Nurse Unit Manager on the Olinda ward, has been shaped by dedicated colleagues, shared learning, and a collective commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our community.
As we celebrate this 10th anniversary, I would like to congratulate everyone who has contributed to this remarkable achievement. This milestone reflects the passion, resilience, collaboration, and dedication of our staff, past and present. I am incredibly proud to be part of a team that continues to grow together, support one another, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve.
Here's to celebrating our journey, our achievements, and the positive impact we continue to make in our community."
